Easy Fundraising

If you shop online, then this is another great way to raise funds for the library.

Sign up to support Barrow upon Soar Community Association, and all money raised goes to Barrow Community Library.

When new supporters sign up using the above link raise their first £5, Easyfundraising will double it to £10.

Each time you shop, just go to the Easy Fundraising website first, and select the online shopping website you require. Amazon are one of the many retailers participating in this scheme.

There is also a Donation Reminder feature, which reminds you about Easy Fundraising every time you visit a store which gives free donations and makes is very easy to raise money for our library.

Easyfundraising also have a reward programme where each purchase resulting in a donation is rewarded with a stamp on a digital stamp card. When the card has five stamps, you can enter a prize draw. There are 1 x £1,000; 2 x £500; and 200 x £5 donations to be won each month for the duration of the campaign. Prize donations are allocated to the good cause you are supporting,

Helpful Hints

As a part of signing up, you will need to do the following: 

• Select your chosen charity i.e. Barrow Upon Soar Community Association (all funds going to BUSCA will come to the library).
• Once you've done that, the BUSCA name and logo will appear on the screen and you need to click it.
• Then you'll need to create an account - just email address and create a password.
• Once you've done all that, you should be asked whether you want to trigger an automatic donation reminder prompt. Say yes to this. It will mean that if you go to the website of a participating retailer, a prompt will appear to tell you that anything you buy from the site during that session will be eligible for a donation if you agree to that. Please note, some retailers who take part in easyfundraising opt out of the automatic prompt. See below. 

You're then good to go.

Participating online retailers who are part of the automatic prompt mechanism:

Many of the retailers are part of the automatic prompt mechanism. So as an example, if you go to the website for Dunelm, Trainline, Temu, Marks & Spencer, insurance comparator websites etc etc, the prompt will appear pretty much as soon as you get to the website and once you've clicked that you do want to generate a donation, you don't need to do anything else to make it happen. 

Participating online retailers who have opted out of the automatic prompt mechanism:

Some retailers opt out of this, including Amazon and Booking.com. If you are going to book some accommodation (for example) from Booking.com, the order of events is as follows:

1. Go onto the easyfundraising website
2. Select Shop by category
3. Scroll down to Retailer A-Z
4. Select B
5. Find Booking.com and click it - this will take you to a new screen
6. Click the appropriate donation level (4% if you're booking accommodation). This will take you through to Booking.com. You don't need to do anything else. If you book accommodation from the site from that session, a donation will automatically be generated.
